Liverpool below Chelsea and level on points with Manchester United in Premier League TV table

Spurs are the new plaything of Sky Sports and TNT Sport so they inevitably top the Premier League TV table, with Liverpool sixth only on goal difference.

Sky Sports and TNT Sports have chosen their TV games up to mid-January. And they still don’t seem to realise Bournemouth or Burnley actually exist.

Spurs – 15 games
Sky Sports – Manchester United (h), Arsenal (a), Liverpool (h), Brentford (a), Fulham (h), Crystal Palace (a), Chelsea (h), Aston Villa (h), Manchester City (a), Newcastle (h), Nottingham Forest (a), Manchester United (a)

TNT Sports – Bournemouth (a), Luton (a), Wolves (a)

Honestly, Harry Kane might have been holding Spurs back. The TV execs cannot get enough of Ange’s boys and it is little wonder.

Arsenal – 13 games
Sky Sports – Crystal Palace (a), Manchester United (h), Everton (a), Spurs (h), Manchester City (h), Chelsea (a), Newcastle (a), Liverpool (a), Fulham (a)

TNT Sports – Nottingham Forest (h), Brentford (a), Aston Villa (a), Crystal Palace (h)

Arsenal helped christen TNT Sports and no club has more fixtures picked for television by that broadcaster, while they remain a Sky Sports favourite.

READ MOREFarewell BT Sport; you were never truly loved and TNT Sports must be different to survive

Liverpool – 13 games
Sky Sports – Chelsea (a), Newcastle (a), Spurs (a), Brighton (a), Luton (a), Manchester City (a), Crystal Palace (a), Manchester United (h), Arsenal (h), Newcastle (h), Bournemouth (a)

TNT Sports – Wolves (a), Everton (h)

So very many away games. So very many lunchtime kick-offs. Just do not mention the lunchtime kick-offs.

Manchester United – 13 games
Sky Sports – Wolves (h), Spurs (a), Arsenal (a), Sheffield United (a), Manchester City (h), Everton (a), Liverpool (a), Nottingham Forest (a), Spurs (h)

TNT Sports – Burnley (a), Fulham (a), Newcastle (a), West Ham (a)

The first months of the Premier League season are not an early-round FA Cup tie so Manchester United are not a) perennially at home or b) permanently on the box.

Chelsea – 12 games
Sky Sports – Liverpool (h), West Ham (a), Luton (h), Bournemouth (a), Fulham (a), Arsenal (h), Spurs (a), Manchester City (h), Wolves (a)

TNT Sports – Brentford (h), Luton (a), Fulham (h)

Todd Boehly’s transfer daftness has proven tough to resist for those hoping to grab the attention of any channel-hoppers wondering precisely who is making their Blues debut this week.

Newcastle – 12 games
Sky Sports – Aston Villa (h), Liverpool (h), Brighton (a), Brentford (h), Sheffield United (a), Wolves (a), Arsenal (h), Bournemouth (a), Spurs (a), Liverpool (a)

TNT Sports – Manchester City (a), Manchester United (h)

Sky Sports will literally never get over those games between Liverpool and Newcastle about 30 years ago, will they?

After having six of their first seven Premier League games picked for broadcast, interest has apparently ever so slightly cooled off in Sky and TNT’s new favourite plaything.

Everton – 10 games
Sky Sports – Aston Villa (a), Arsenal (h), Brentford (a), West Ham (a), Manchester United (h), Nottingham Forest (a), Burnley (a), Aston Villa (h)

TNT Sports – Sheffield United (a), Liverpool (a)

Impressive forward-thinking to save most of the Goodison boos for later in the season when it properly starts to matter.

Manchester City – 10 games
Sky Sports – Burnley (a), Sheffield United (a), Arsenal (a), Manchester United (a), Chelsea (a), Liverpool (h), Spurs (h), Luton (a)

TNT Sports – Newcastle (h), Newcastle (a)

Five of those games are on (Super) Sunday, including quite brilliantly the Luton trip. So good, guys.

Nottingham Forest – 10 games
Sky Sports – Burnley (h), Brentford (h), Crystal Palace (a), Aston Villa (h), West Ham (a), Everton (h), Spurs (h), Manchester United (h), Brentford (a)

TNT Sports – Arsenal (a)

Those lucky Forest sods were shown on consecutive October and November weekends.

West Ham – 10 games
Sky Sports – Chelsea (h), Brighton (a), Luton (a), Aston Villa (a), Everton (h), Nottingham Forest (h), Crystal Palace (h), Wolves (h), Brighton (h)

TNT Sports – Manchester United (h)

Suppose there’s no point putting David Moyes on the tele at the Emirates, Stamford Bridge, Anfield or Old Trafford if you want to retain the pretence of jeopardy.

Aston Villa – nine games
Sky Sports – Newcastle (a), Everton (h), West Ham (h), Nottingham Forest (a), Spurs (a), Sheffield United (h), Everton (a)

TNT Sports – Brighton (h), Arsenal (h)

Unai Emery’s players wilted in front of the cameras against Newcastle but have since hammered Everton, Brighton and West Ham to make up for it. Then came the Forest surrender.

Wolves – nine games
Sky Sports – Manchester United (a), Crystal Palace (a), Newcastle (h), Fulham (a), West Ham (a), Chelsea (h)

TNT Sports – Liverpool (h), Spurs (h), Brighton (a)

Gary O’Neil will hope that no more referees feel the pressure of a TV audience when adjudging whether a goalkeeper clattering into a couple of opponents constitutes a foul.

Crystal Palace – eight games
Sky Sports – Arsenal (h), Wolves (h), Nottingham Forest (h), Spurs (h), West Ham (a), Liverpool (h), Brighton (h)

TNT Sports – Arsenal (a)

Palace have had a couple of 8pm Mondays to contend with but as many Sunday 2pms, a prime slot to ensure Roy Hodgson doesn’t miss Songs of Praise.

Brentford – seven games
Sky Sports – Spurs (h), Newcastle (a), Everton (h), Nottingham Forest (a), Nottingham Forest (h)

TNT Sports – Chelsea (a), Arsenal (h)

Why do Sky Sports love Brentford v Nottingham Forest so much?

Brighton – seven games
Sky Sports – West Ham (h), Newcastle (h), Liverpool (h), Crystal Palace (a), West Ham (a)

TNT Sports – Aston Villa (a), Wolves (h)

Do we really have to do the whole M23 derby thing again?

Luton – seven games
Sky Sports – Chelsea (a), West Ham (h), Liverpool (h), Manchester City (h)

TNT Sports – Tottenham (h), Chelsea (h), Burnley (a)

Some big hitters (and Burnley) for any armchair Luton fans to sample – and plenty of away fans who will enjoy that entrance.

Fulham – six games
Sky Sports – Chelsea (h), Spurs (a), Wolves (h), Arsenal (h)

TNT Sports – Manchester United (h), Chelsea (a)

Those bloody poor Fulham fans had to wait until Monday, October 2 – seven weeks into the season – for a chance to see their side on the box. And then they lost. There is an understandable reluctance to film them outside of London.

Sheffield United – six games
Sky Sports – Manchester City (h), Newcastle (h), Manchester United (h), Aston Villa (a), West Ham (h)

TNT Sports – Everton (h)

There is little appetite to have the Blades seen on their travels. Shame.

Burnley – five games
Sky Sports – Manchester City (h), Nottingham Forest (a), Everton (h)

TNT Sports – Manchester United (a), Luton (h)

The Vincent Kompany revolution will largely not be televised at all. Or be a revolution. Or possibly be Vincent Kompany’s.

Bournemouth – four games
Sky Sports – Chelsea (h), Newcastle (h), Liverpool (h)

TNT Sports – Spurs (h)

Welcome to the Premier League, big Spanish Tone.
