Man Utd man putting ‘serious thought’ into ‘quitting’; Red Devils ‘likely’ to bid for Prem star
Man Utd defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka is thinking about ‘quitting’ the club this summer despite his increased game time, according to reports.
The 25-year-old made the move from Crystal Palace in 2019 for £50m after the former England under-21 international impressed for the Eagles in the 2018-19 campaign.
However, Wan-Bissaka has struggled to take his game to the next level at Man Utd – who are enjoying a good season – with supporters and pundits disappointed that he hasn’t kicked on in his three-and-a-half seasons at Old Trafford.
Wan-Bissaka was dropped towards the end of last season by interim Man Utd boss Ralf Rangnick with the German preferring Diogo Dalot to the Croydon-born defender.

Dalot has been preferred again for much of this term under Erik ten Hag but the Dutchman has been affording Wan-Bissaka more game time in recent weeks.
Wan-Bissaka – who has been linked with a move back to Crystal Palace – was given a run of matches in the starting XI under Ten Hag after an injury to Dalot with the Englishman putting in a number of solid displays.
But Football Insider insist that Wan-Bissaka is ‘giving serious thought to quitting the club at the end of the season’ with Man Utd ‘exploring the signing of another right-back this summer’.
The Man Utd defender ‘is not willing to be a back-up option going forward and is mulling over a potential departure’ while the Red Devils are ‘willing to listen to offers for Wan-Bissaka if another option is brought in’.
Man Utd will make signing a striker their priority in the summer transfer market with a number of centre-forwards linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Wout Weghorst was brought in on loan from Championship side Burnley in the January transfer window after Man Utd allowed Cristiano Ronaldo to terminate his contract at the end of November.
Tottenham striker Harry Kane is regularly linked with the Red Devils and now Football Insider claim a summer bid is now ‘likely’ for the England international.
Man Utd are ‘plotting a marquee striker signing this summer’ with Ten Hag eyeing a ‘prolific centre-forward forward in the off-season’.
Football Insider adds:
‘United’s recruitment team are now looking at a number of targets in preparation for a busy summer window.
‘Kane, 29, is on the shortlist with the England captain yet to renew his Tottenham contract – which is currently set to expire in June 2024.
‘Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, 24, is also being discussed – but the Serie A leaders have already told Chelsea it would take a British-record fee to prise him away in the summer.’
